A place we’re proud to call home, and even prouder to share
We’re Russ and Malynda, and together with Makenna and Fletcher, we’re the family behind Seclusions.
We live here. We work here. We know the changing light across the valley, the sound of the property waking up in the morning and which of the Highland coos is most likely to wander over hoping for a carrot treat.
And because Seclusions is our home as well as our business, caring for it has always felt personal.
You’ll find that care in the things that might otherwise go unnoticed, a locally made candle waiting inside your cabin, artwork chosen very intentionally, a fire prepared before a cool evening, little provisions waiting when you arrive, gardens tended and lawns cared for, and the quiet reassurance that someone is nearby should you need anything.
To us, hospitality isn’t about doing more for the sake of it. It’s about making people feel genuinely considered.

ROOTED IN EXPERIENCE
Seclusions has been shaped by years of welcoming people into meaningful moments, quiet escapes, celebrations, weddings and everything in between.
That experience has taught us that what guests remember most isn’t always the grand gesture. It’s how a place makes them feel: welcomed, at ease, cared for and able to truly switch off.
CHARACTER OVER TRENDS
We’ve never wanted Seclusions to become another trend-led stay. Our cabins are spacious, authentic and full of character, warm timber interiors, fireplaces, private bath spa and that nostalgic country feeling that is becoming increasingly rare to find.
They aren’t designed simply to look beautiful in a photograph. They’re designed to be lived in. To make you want to pour a glass, light the fire, stay awhile and let the outside world feel a little further away.
MARKING MOMENTS THAT MATTER
Many guests come to Seclusions with something worth marking, an anniversary, a birthday, a proposal, or simply time together that has been too long in coming.
We create the space for those moments to unfold slowly and feel personal, surrounded by the quiet of the Seven Valleys and thoughtful touches that make the occasion feel considered.
The story so far
Long before we became its custodians, Seclusions had already been welcoming people to the Seven Valleys.
The cabins have been part of the landscape for around 20 years, with weddings later becoming another chapter in the property’s story. Over time, Seclusions has witnessed quiet weekends away, proposals, anniversaries, weddings, birthdays, reunions and countless ordinary moments that somehow become the ones people remember most.
For the past eight years, we’ve had the privilege of continuing that story, respecting what people have always loved about Seclusions while slowly making it our own.
We’re proud to have preserved the character, warmth and sense of escape that made us fall in love with Seclusions in the first place.
